G3-Generational Ministry
At Bethany we believe and live in the confidence that we are deeply loved by God. Our confidence in living comes in knowing that our God is the God of generations. From Genesis 12 throughout the Old Testament God continually establishes himself as the father of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God made a promise to Abraham that through him he would bless his descendants and the nations of the world. That blessing would come through Jesus, the Son of God who would be born a natural birth from this line and give his life for the world.
God’s blessing continues to all mankind through the person and Savior of the world, Jesus the Son of God. The blessing of life and love are echoed in Psalm 112: 1 – 3 “Praise the LORD. Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who take great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever.”
It is from these verses we frame a three-fold generational ministry: a Generational Relationship, Generational Power, and Generational Wealth.
Generational relationship is one’s intimate and personal relationship with God whereby we are guided daily in our attitudes, actions, beliefs, decisions and practices by our love of God and a surrendered life to him.
Generational power is centered in how we live our life by faith in action. We are invited to dream and design a life which is guided by discipline, habits and strategies centered in the Word of God which will allow us to prosper, overcome and succeed in life for the glory of God.
Generational wealth is a life guided by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit who counsels us in our decisions so that we may be a blessing to our family and friends. Wealth is not simply financial possessions but it also includes our spiritual, relational, intellectual and physical dimension. We seek to empower individuals and families in creating, sharing and passing on their wealth to others in their life.
Throughout the year we will be providing opportunities for individuals and families to participate together in faith through habits that will strengthen our relationship with God and one another.
